Spain Launches Player Portal Ahead of Cross-Operator Deposit Limits
According to the Spanish Ministry of Consumer Affairs’ official announcement, the new portal gives users a consolidated overview of their gambling activity across licensed online platforms. Players can examine deposits, stakes, winnings and losses without accessing each operator’s account separately.
The service also provides access to annual gambling activity certificates and lets users set spending alerts. Another feature enables individuals to identify gambling accounts registered under their personal information, potentially helping them detect unauthorised activity.
This functionality complements Spain’s earlier identity theft reporting portal, which introduced dedicated procedures for identifying and reporting fraudulent gambling accounts. The government’s Cl@ve authentication system makes the new portal available, including to individuals without active gambling accounts.
Deposit Monitoring System Remains in Testing
The portal’s launch is separate from the implementation of Spain’s new cross-operator deposit controls. The framework, approved in June 2026, establishes combined deposit thresholds of €700 per day, €1,750 per week and €3,300 over four weeks. Unlike existing operator-specific limits, the new controls will consider deposits across multiple licensed platforms.
Players can reduce their joint limits immediately, while increases or removal requests take effect after three working days. Although the Player Portal is now accessible, the centralised deposit verification system is still being tested before mandatory implementation in March 2027.
Operators Prepare for Centralised Compliance Requirements
Licensed operators must integrate their payment systems with the DGOJ’s central infrastructure to verify deposits before processing transactions. Once the requirements become enforceable, operators must reject requests that exceed a player’s applicable combined limit.
The development follows Spain’s recent payment ownership verification reforms, adding another technical obligation for operators managing customer accounts and transactions. For operators and compliance technology providers, the immediate priority is completing system integration and testing before the new deposit controls take effect.
The Player Portal’s launch marks a separate operational milestone, providing consumers with centralised access to their gambling information before the wider monitoring framework becomes mandatory.
