iGaming Dominates Lithuania’s Gambling Growth

According to the figures posted by Lithuania’s Gaming Control Authority, online gambling was the major driver behind the revenue growth. Out of the €131.5 million in total gambling revenue, the iGaming sector generated €96.1 million, an 18.2% increase since 2024. Similarly, online gambling wagers totalled €2.08 billion, up 16.8% YoY.

Category A online slots, which offer unlimited winnings, recorded €1.51 billion in wagers, up 21.4% since the previous year. The sector generated €64.4 million in revenue, a 20.4% YoY growth. Category B slots, where the winnings are capped at 200x the original bet, posted a 34% revenue drop to €1.2 million.

Online table games witnessed the maximum growth, with revenue increasing by 36.4% to €9.2 million. Player spending in the category jumped by 11.6% to €257.4 million. Online sports betting revenue also increased by 10.5% to €21.3 million, with players spending €301.3 million, a 4.3% jump.

The overall figures position the country as a top target for online casino operators as well as casino game and sports betting software companies, including the best turnkey casino providers helping businesses launch swiftly and efficiently.

Land-Based Sector Posts Positive Revenue Despite Fewer Operators

Lithuania’s land-based operators posted a modest 2.2% YoY growth, amounting to €35.4 million. This was despite one operator exiting the market, leaving just nine licensed operators to fill in the void. Category B slot games generated the maximum revenue for brick-and-mortar operators.

Wagers in the sector were up by 4.8% while revenue increased 2.8% to €14.8 million. Category A slots, on the other hand, generated €8.1 million, a 2.5% YoY increase.  Retail sports betting posted an 11.6% growth, amounting to €4.8 million. The biggest decline was recorded in the table games sector, as revenue slipped by 5% to €7.6 million.

Lithuania’s lottery market posted significant growth during H1 2025. The Gaming Control Authority’s figures revealed a 10.6% growth to €36.7 million. The total turnover jumped by 14.1% to €80.8 million, ticket sales increased 8.2% to €54.5 million, and the total payout increased 17.1% to €44.6 million.

The latest revenue figures point toward Lithuania’s resilient gambling market, which is currently undergoing turbulent regulatory reforms. The government banned gambling ads earlier in July. While minor restrictions have come into play, the full extent of the updated legislation will be enforced in 2028.
