Dar Bjorn Charity Gala

The Dar Bjorn Charity Gala, co-organised by BGaming, White Label Casinos, and NEXT.io, raised a whopping €200,000. The donation will be used to build a new Respite Centre for patients suffering from ALS and other neurological conditions. The event also highlighted Dar Bjorn’s critical service in neurology and the iGaming industry’s efforts to give back to the community.

Key Points of the Story

  • The Charity Gala was hosted at the iconic Villa Bighi in Kalkara, Malta, on May 9, 2025. Over 400 guests, including delegates, leaders, and industry representatives, attended the event.
  • Proceeds from ticket sales, an art auction, and an exclusive merchant line aptly named “Dream Big. Give Bigger” were donated to the cause.
  • Dar Bjorn will utilise the donated amount to build a new Respite Centre for patients living with ALS and other neurological conditions.

Philanthropists, Industry Leaders, and Local Business Community in Attendance

The charity event was held at the historic Villa Bighi in Kalakara on the evening of May 9. Over 400 guests, including members of Malta’s business community and stalwarts from the iGaming industry, came together to celebrate a shared vision. The primary goal was to raise crucial funds for the new Respite Centre at Dar Bjorn, Dar Bjorn, Malta’s neurological home for individuals with ALS, MS, and other neurological conditions. This will be the charitable institution’s third property for serving patients with ALS and other neurological difficulties.

This collaboration marked a unique partnership between iGaming giants across diverse verticals. And support for the mission poured in from all quarters of the local community. Notable sponsors include Visit Malta, Amusnet, FocusGaming News,1spin4win, MyAffiliates, and industry stalwart Matthew Gera.

Raffle prizes were sponsored by White Label Casinos, iGP, and the Yolo Group. While other prominent names like Cisk, Huskie, Neriku, Island 8, Stretta, Molecular Fusion, and Camilleri sponsored catering.

GMR and Villa Bighi funded the setup and the venue, along with Joseph Chetcuti, Versatile Brass Band, 360 Camera, and Testatesmar, in association with TaDa Gaming and Chilli Partners, took care of the entertainment. Swag42 sponsored the merchandise while Times of Malta and ONE Media were the channel partners.

Collaborative Fundraising Night Sets a New Benchmark

The event raised a whopping €200,000, which is the highlight of the night. A breathtaking canvas by two Brazilian artists, Lobot and Enivo, created on behalf of BGaming, started a bidding war, leading to the painting being sold for €22,000, the evening’s highest bid. Digital artist L7Matrix also donated two of his artworks, each of which fetched €20,000.

Beyond direct donations, guests “purchased” rooms in the respite centre, pledged sponsorship deals, and collected limited-edition merchandise from the “Dream Big. Give Bigger” collection, created in association with Swag42. Each donation, purchase and pledge went a long way in reaching the mammoth figure at the end of the evening.

Meanwhile, the raffle contest promised four exciting prizes. White Label Casinos sponsored an exclusive Norwegian fjords getaway, while iGP provided Centre Court tickets for Wimbledon. Yolo Group sponsored VIP tickets to Chelsea FC matches, and an anonymous donor sponsored an Austrian Grand Prix 2025 experience.
